Have you ever used oil in your dog’s coat? Then you would know the nightmare that results when you take the dog out of oil; the matting the unconditioned coat, etc.
In the past, I’d use oil to grow coat on my poodles but I found the coat to be very dry and matt almost immediately after removing the oil in preparation for a show. A handler recommended that I use Animal House Vita Riche Conditioner instead of the oil.
Animal House Vita Riche is a coconut based conditioner that will strengthen and feed the coat, rather than dry it and absorb all of the natural oils. When performing maintenance baths I use Vita Riche and leave it in. I find I can manage the coat easily until the next bath.
When you are ready for a show bath just wash the dog with a clarifying shampoo such as Chris Christensen Clean Start then follow with a light conditioner such as Animal House Leave in Luster, and you have a wonderful, plush, easy coat to deal with. Animal House Vita Riche is not a conditioner to use for a show bath.
The Animal House Vita Riche is excellent on plush coats, such as Poodles, Bichons, Portuguese water dogs. The product can also be used on other types of coats to do a deep conditioning treatment.
