In 1985 Bob Thompson of Governor Insurance was approached by Jeff Reynolds, Executive Director of the NDGAA (National Dog Groomers Association of America) to create specific insurance coverage for their members. Out of this meeting, Bob designed the Professional Liability and Animal coverage forms that were tailored to meet the specific needs of the Pet Service Industry.
In 1998, Bob Thompson designed additional specific coverage for the expanding Mobile Grooming Industry. Along with the Professional Liability and Animal coverage, Bob created coverage forms to provide for the Loss of Income for a grooming van or trailer, should it be damaged or destroyed; and to insure the customized portion of the van or trailer also.
In recent years, Bob and the Agency has continued to develop insurance coverage packages for the pet industry and has been very successful in providing specialized packages for Boarding Kennels, Dog Daycares, Mobile Veterinarians and Humane Rescue/Shelters.
In addition to being the “Leader in Pet Industry coverage”, Governor Insurance has, since 1947 always been a provider of Home, Automobile and Business coverage.
