I have a very simple solution when a customer forgets to leave their groom fee. I leave a self addressed envelop, writing the fee owed on the inside flap. This makes it easy for the customer to send a check for the proper amount and encourages fast payment. 99% of the customers use the envelope I leave them. I keep a stack in the van in case I need them.
Glove/mitten combos “glittens” are great in winter for mobile groomers. They give you the ability to use your fingers and thumb for all kinds of tasks in cold weather. I am able keep my hands warm in the morning and at the end of the day when I am getting the van ready or cleaning up. Don’t forget to put a cover on your steering wheel. This will help keep your hands warm when temperatures drop.
Happy Hoodies! A hoodie on every head is my motto! However, I have come up with another use for these wonderful little things. I put them on my arm to prevent being scratched by dogs that want to paw me when I wash or dry them. What a great invention! http://www.happyhoodie.com/
My favorite blade by a long shot is the Aescuplap #30. I use this under my Wahl snap on combs. They are fabulous! The blades stay sharp and the teeth don’t break. Since I use snap on combs for the majority of my haircuts they get a lot of use and abuse. With regular maintenance (blowing out the hair, brushing with h-42, oiling at the end of each day) they seem to last forever. http://www.germanredclipper.com/
