I’m sitting here pondering my last grooming show. As usual, it was a very busy day. The vendors were buzzing and the competition ring was full. This was a real shopping trip for me as I bought everything I needed for the next six months. I also replaced and upgraded my clippers and got my shears sharpened.
The night before the show I looked at my shopping list and realized that I would be doing a lot of walking and carrying. I recalled that I had a small cart in the attic so up I went. I brought it with me to the show and I was so glad I did! I was able to put almost everything I purchased into the cart. It freed me from having to carry shopping bags on both shoulders as I shopped from vendor to vendor.
This show was held in a convention center so it was a big walk and down a flight of steps from the show to the garage parking lot. In addition, it was a rainy, windy day. Having the cart protected my back and saved me many steps back and forth to the car. All my purchases went right into the cart. It made shopping so much easier! I had very little to carry.
When a grooming show takes place in a hotel, you can pop your loot right into your room. This is very important since we tend to buy lots of products and tools. Keep this in mind when attending shows in a convention center. Bring a cart or even a little, red wagon. The reason I mention this is because I have learned this lesson the hard way. If you are attending a grooming show, take a look and see where it is being held. Take that into consideration when your shopping list is long because it is much easier to push then to carry.
