So we pet stylists have made it through the lean time of January, and we are falling into the month of Love....When Puppies come out of the woodwork! They seem to be one of the favorite gifts of affection to give, and they come to us in need of thier first grooming experience. I have over the years found it a very opportune time to educate our newest pet owners in everything from proper food and water , to brushes, brushing, shampoos and of course a grooming schedule.....I think it a wise idea to have a small pamphlet of general information, and you can touch on each subject briefly, and allow the owner to read it thoroughly at home at thier liesure. I have even put together packets of basic coat care necessities such as brush/comb/coat care pamphlet and kept them stocked in my retail. Why send the client to the local pet store when you could keep that revenue............I put the packets together based on coat type.
The clients are very appreciative of the information!!
