In the Year 2009
Jan 10 and 11, 2009 were busy days for me shooting TEN more DVDs to add to my previous set of 7 that were shot in 92. I combined a few of the original ones to add to the 10 new ones to create my HipDog Reality Pet Grooming Home Study series. Its comprised of 13 DVDs to teach anyone how to learn to groom at home at their own pace. I also have a grooming TOOLS package put together with all the essential basic tools you will need to get started. Included with the 10 new DVDs is a detailed step-by-step diagram to show you exactly what to do if you purchase from our web site.
January 12 was the first day of my first 2009 session, wooo hoooo! Laura and Lise are doing great in their 8th week already. They got the opportunity to groom 18 rescue poodles from Poodle Rescue of North Texas, Inc.<G> Not only do my students get to help dogs on their way to their new homes have a better chance at adoption, but they get to see our responsibility as professional groomers to step up to the plate and offer our services to those in need. Its a win-win for everyone involved and each of my sessions does this throughout the year several times in each session.
My next semester starting April 6 is already full too. For those of you thinking of attending the HipDog School of Grooming Arts, I am filling up about 3 months out so once you make the final decision to come, you need to get those deposits in to secure your place in the session you want to be in. Its a major commitment for 3 months. Preparing ahead of time is necessary so you can concentrate and focus in school.
My first class graduated Nov 13, 2008 with excellent scissoring and blending skills which is "carte blanche" in our industry. Sherry and Taryn are great groomers with a good work ethic and will be an asset for anyone who is lucky enough to hire them!
