Well, this is another short and crazy week for me! It seems like I just unpacked my suitcase. I was in Knoxville recently to speak at a new show put on by the Pet Stylists of Tennessee Association. It was a fun event and I was very impressed by enthusiasm that everyone had. Now I am packing up and getting ready to head to New Jersey for the Intergroom Show, www.intergroom.com . This will be a very exciting show for me and for my staff, I am giving three presentations throughout the weekend and I really excited about the Applied Anatomy lecture I am giving Saturday afternoon. This lecture will be focusing on how crucial it is to understand canine anatomy. Canine anatomy is more than just bones and ligaments, it is truly about how the anatomical reference points and the breed standards impact the grooming methods and standards that we use everyday in our salons and in the show ring. I will be using Morgan, a Doberman pinscher as my “live” model during the lecture to illustrate my methods. Morgan is owned by Misty Fowler, who is my salon manager in Grand Rapids, Michigan and a competitive groomer. Misty will be competing as will Jennifer Hecker who runs my pet resort, Whiskers Resort and Pet Spa. Stop by my booth during the weekend to say Hi! I hope to see you all at my lecture on Saturday.
Happy Trimming!
