 Like today I start at 3.00pm and work only 1 hour as today is my day off. So I am going to a auction and decided to groom one dog on my way there ,as this is  a new client and easy $$.

2- The client pays the electric and water bill-

3-No clean up, as with most of the homes I go to the client thinks I am doing them a great service so they never let me clean up the hair.

4-I only need to groom 3 dogs a day instead of 6 to make the same amount of $$ working for someone 

   else. Plus the $$ is all mine!

One on my clients on the dog hair in the home.

My dog, a Lakeland terrier is groomed at home. We bathe, dry and combed him out the night before so that he's ready to be clipped in the morning. The groomer clips him in the kitchen on an island covered with a heavy rubber sheet. As he is being clipped I pick up a lot of the hair as the groomer brushes it out of her way. After she has finished clipping and has left, I vacuum up the hair that has gotten on the floor. It only takes a few minutes. I don't mind doing this at all simply for the convenience of not having to take him out and then return to pick him up. My terrier is 14 years old and doesn't need to be upset by other dogs which would be waiting at a groomer's to be clipped also. SDB, Frederick

More Business in a Down Economy

Hello fellow house call groomers,

 Today I am going to talk about how to increase your business in a down economy.

1. You can offer a $10/$20  discount if they bathe the pet for you and have it already dried

    and combed out for you.     Most of   of my clients  are groomed this way.       

    

2.  If the pet is small like under 30 lbs offer a 30% discount for the winter time only or 1st time 
       customers.

3.  Offer the word FREE in you text - Like Free toe nail clipping  for all grooms for the month of   

      February.

4. Remember to only advertise in the local newspapers  on Saturday and Sundays only ,more

      not Harder on marketing tips.
