It's February, and the PetEdge Groomer's Showcase is back with another collection of before and after grooming photos.
In this edition of the showcase, you'll see what happens when a groomer and an Airedale terrier meet for the first time, watch as two senior pets get fresh new looks thanks to our friend Elsebeth LaForge, and learn how a heavily matted Schnauzer says "thank you" to the groomer who takes on her tough tangles.
Let's get started!

Airedale before:
Nadine writes: I graduated from A+ Pet Grooming Academy in Gray, Maine on January 27th. This was my first Airdale. I felt comfortable grooming her because the cut is so similar to a schnauzer, which is my favorite cut. She was quite dirty and overdue for a grooming, however.
The matts and snarls came out easily with my Les Poochs brush and Master Grooming Tools slicker brush. I wear a leather glove on my left hand while using the Les Poochs brush with my right hand.
We use the Hydrosurge Bath Pro 5.1 System at school and I chose the Tangerine Clean shampoo. I scrub all dogs with a Kong Zoom Groom Curry Brush for the massage effect and deep-down clean. Her back was shaved with a number 5 blade on my Wahl KM2 clipper. Head and ears with a #10. Skimming the light, fluffy hair on her legs with the #5 worked well. Finished up with straights and thinning shears.

"Pictured below is Angus, a 14-year-old Westie. Angus came to me for a Christmas makeover and we both enjoyed our time together very much. His coat was in great shape. I used a 7F on his back and scissored the legs, skirt and face."

Thanks and happy grooming :)

I would have cut the Schnauzer's face to have the classic Schnauzer look, the feathers on the legs, the moustache on the muzzle. Even just a hint of this, to have a Schnauzer look. He just got a basic cut down with probably a 10 blade, being matted. Leaving a little for eye brows also gives the dog a personality, not just another dog with a summer cut down.
