Using bathing systems on cats

                                 
Did you know that you can use bathing systems on cats?  In this photo Melvin is being washed with a recirculating bathing system. As you can see by his demeanor, he is quite relaxed about the whole process. His ears are pricked forward, and his eyes show that he is curious, not fearful.

Recirculating bathing systems get pets very clean, help remove shedding coat, and save on both water and product usage. Because Melvin's coat was not particularly dirty or oily, he was bathed with Tropiclean aloe shampoo, a good all around mild cleansing product. 

The bathtub in the photo is the small tub made by Forever Stainless Company.  Melvin is sitting comfortably on an Ortho Mat,(these great mats are sold by Forever Stainless and come with the tubs,) which offers him a soft, secure place to be while he is bathed. 

We like this photograph because it shows that cats can be safely, humanely and kindly bathed.  Cat's do not have to be stressed out while getting groomed.  Melvin is not even being restrained!

After his bath Melvin was dried with several warm towels, then gently fluff dried on the grooming table.  His owner says he always acts quite pleased with himself after his grooming.

I find the recirc system much easier on the cats I groom because it is quieter and faster. Most cats don't require restraint in the tub. They require patience and a calm groomer.
When I first started at my last job it would actually upset my boss to see me not restraining them. Until he realized the kitties were always happier and the grooming process much faster.

Hi Kim I just wanted to say I truly enjoyed are simiar at Nanhall on the cats.It was exciting and fun this is comming from a gal that never thouht to groom a cat.But I understand more also my fear has denimish this all come from the not knowing and not understanding the lango of the cats.Thanks to your wonderful training I no what I can do and how far I can take it.What a wonderful thing that Haley is incorparted this in her school.I being a new groomer think that all new and senior groomer partake in this semeire.And yes I would do it again

I love the recirc on cats! I don't bathe them the "old fashioned" way.

I have always worried that the noise and splashing sounds would freak the cats out so I've never tried my recirc on any cats. I'll have to try it on a "known good kitty".
