As a part of Wag'n Tails ongoing effort to educate the public, to promote the mobile grooming industry in general and to specifically generate business for our Wag'n Tails family members, we have enhanced our groomer locator system.
 
"This is another way we can ensure our existing Wag'n Tails owners stay healthy with an influx of new customers and provide new owners with a firm foundation to build their start-up businesses upon" said Dennis Gnetz, Wag'n Tails President.
 
Internet search engines have replaced yellow pages as the number 1 method consumers turn to in locating businesses.  With nearly a third of all people using search engines to find needed products and services, Wag'n Tails is leading the way for consumers to locate a mobile groomer in their area.
 
"We have worked hard to get top placements in the various search engines over the past several years.  This has seriously improved our ability to get more pet parents calling Wag'n Tails owners for an appointment" Gnetz added.

The GROOMER LOCATOR PAGE features an informative and concise, instant video extolling the benefits of mobile grooming for the pet and the pet parent.
 
Just like using the earlier groomer locator version, all the pet parent needs to do is enter their zip code and click "Locate".  The closest Wag'n Tails owners are displayed with the distance, the company name, the city, state and phone number(s).  This information is pulled directly from our detailed Wag'n Tails owner database.

Do Pet Parents Really Use The Locator?
Yes they do!  Ask any Wag'n Tails owner that is on it and they'll tell you that the groomer locator drives business to them!  We've even had some of our owners call to have themselves removed from it because they're too booked up to take on new clientele.
 
Wag'n Tails spends a great deal of time, effort and money to be highly ranked on the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.  When a searcher type in "mobile grooming", we are usually the first result.  That gets the pet owner to our website and the groomer locater.
 

Who can be on the groomer locator?

Our groomer locator service is available to all owners of Wag'n Tails mobile grooming vehicles.
 
If you bought a new Wag'n Tails from us, you are eligible for listing in our groomer locator.
 
If you bought a used Wag'n Tails from us, you are eligible for listing in our groomer locator.  

 
If you bought a used Wag'n Tails from one of our previous clients, you are eligible for listing in our groomer locator.
 
It all boils down to this:  If you own a Wag'n Tails, you are eligible for listing in our groomer locator.

 

I'm a Wag'n Tails owner but I'm not in the locator!
 
Simply call our Office manger, Jenny and give her the required information and you will be added.  This is important for the locator but there are other benefits as well.
 
When we have you in our database, you will receive important information like maintenance tips and other special notices available only to Wag'n Tails owners.
 
You'll get important access to proprietary business articles and advice in the exclusive Wag'n Tails "Den" website.
 
We will also be able to expedite handling of your parts and service needs by quickly identifying exactly which specific Wag'n Tails vehicle you own.

Wag'n Tails expresses our heartfelt thank you to all the Wag'n Tails pet stylists that contributed their grooming skill to the first annual Mobile Grooming For A Cause event in October.

Denise really got into the spirit of the event and had those shelter pet's putting their best paws forward for prospective adoptive pet parents.  Way to go Denise!
 
In all, we had 82 pet stylists participating this year.  Of those, 28 reported to us the number of pets they groomed.  Those 28 groomers accounted for 533 pets groomed in October!
 
Again, thanks to all of you that volunteered your valuable time to help these shelter pets.  Words can't begin to express our gratitude and appreciation to all the participants and those that volunteer on a regular basis.  You are truly exceptional people!

A few of the emails we received...

This was so cool!!!!   I headed up a local community event at Palm Beach Animal Care and Control shelter in West Palm Beach, FL on October 16th.

I groomed 7 dogs in which 5 of them got adopted the next day! Whooohoooo!   It was a really great experience and I will be donating my time there again in the near future.

With the help of the shelter we rounded up another mobile pet groomer to come and groom that day as well making it an event with a bake sale and everything. They did 5 or 6 dogs too!

We had coverage in the local newspapers prior to the event which brought a number of people to the shelter that day!  A couple of the news TV stations showed up and I actually had a 5 minute segment on the 5pm news!  They also wrote up a nice article about me and my business in the newspaper with a big picture of me and one of the dogs that I groomed that day....the dog was adopted the same day the article came out!  Truly rewarding and heart-warming to help these animals out!

I didn't want to go inside (I would get too emotional) so I would depend on the volunteers bringing out the dogs to me.  There was one volunteer that would softly knock on the door of the van. "Could you make this one pretty?"  She was so sweet.

I had two radio ads that ran for the whole month, a small article in the paper, an article done in the low country dog magazine website (very large pet mag. here) and the Charleston magazine as well. 

I was able to groom 7 dogs at the SPCA.  Five of the seven got adopted either the same day or a day following.  With this I am donating $400.00 to the SPCA and the Life Care Center of Charleston is matching my donations for a total of $800 to the SPCA.  I was also able to get some of my clients to donate extra as well by sending out my quarterly brochures.

I just wanted to thank you guys for everything, I new for a while I wanted to do this but I really didn't know how to get it started and you guys found a way to make it happen and to push me to move forward and accomplish my goals!
 
I couldn't believe the difference at how fast these pets got adopted once they got groomed.  One shepherd I did was looked over 4 times and every one of them decided not to adopt him.  I groomed him and then the next day he was adopted.  It was that quick!

In addition to the grooming I added something extra to the mix.  For the entire month of October every pet I groom through my business I will donate $5 per pet to the ASPCA.  I am also working with one of my clients that is a therapy dog that I do every week.  This client is the marketing director for the Life Care Center of Charleston and they have agreed to match up to $500.00 of my donation.  So that is a potential $1000.00 donation!

There were two local shelters to choose from. I chose Rome because when I called and talked to Susan and told her what we were doing for this cause she couldn't have expressed enough excitement, gratefulness and appreciation for what we were going to do for the animals.

I went to the shelter and saw how small and run down it was.(the roof is leaking where the dogs are, the septic is backed up(they have 3) the one that was leaking is from the washer and it overflows into the dog area.  They're maxed out with space for the cats and dogs.  And behind all that were these tail wagging friendly happy furry friends. There was no doubt at that point I was thrilled to be of  assistance and didn't care about the contest. 

I wanted to take it a step further and explained to my customers what I was doing and asked if they wanted to make a donation whether it was blankets, towels, a bag of food, treats, leashes, money whatever they could do to help would be appreciated no obligation. I can't believe how generous bags of stuff they'd gather while I was grooming their pet and had it ready.

I think its awesome you started this and I hope you continue this cause and more people get involved. I took for granted grooming spoiled and pampered pets and forgot about those that aren't fortunate enough.

I even was able to match an older dog "Harpo" with a customer (whose dog died last month--and she to was older)I called her she came up with her niece and brought him home the day I met and groomed him. I followed up with her and she loves him.

My 13 year old black lab, Salem, passed away from cancer on July 30th of this year. October was always our favorite month to enjoy one another.
 
I can't think of a better way to honor this beautiful shelter dog that I saved so many years ago than to groom my heart and soul out every spare minute this month in her memory!!
 
She was my best friend, my daughter, my protector, my happiness, my joy, my peace and my comfort. She gave my life worth and I will miss her and love her for eternity.
