When we called Anne to congratulate her, she was speechless! When she finally came out of shock, she told us that she pledged some of her winnings to the shelters where she groomed the shelter pups.
Anne said the experience was very rewarding and she wanted to say thanks to all the groomers who participated this year.

One of the dogs I groomed was left at a local shelter by it's owners. The reason they gave for surrendering the dog was "it's got cancer and we don't want it anymore" yes, they referred to this sweet dog as "it".
Sammy is a German Shepherd . The local shelter called a rescue group who takes all hunting/field breeds, they explained what happened and that they would put the dog down. Thirty minutes later Sammy was on his way to the rescue.
The very next day he was seen by a K9 oncologist and treatment started the following week. In 6 months he was 'cancer free'. He was featured as part of grooming for a cause. A family came to look at him and after a bath, nail trim and cool bandana he was looking great ! They took him home three days later and wrote a check for all of his medical expenses !!!!!
Good people exist !! What better is this family wanted him!
