Barbara Bird, Author

  • Barbara Bird, aka BBird, has been grooming since 1971 and opened Transformation Pet Center in Tucson, Arizona in 1977. In the salon, BBird specializes in Bichons and scissored trims, hand stripping of Terriers, and cat grooming. She has been writing and speaking to groomers for over a decade, and received the Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award as Grooming Journalist of the Year for 2006 and 2007. A regular contributor to Pet Age magazine, Barbara also writes for The Bichon Frise Reporter. She has authored and self-published three books, including Beyond Suds and Scent - Understanding Pet Shampoos and Conditioners. She has also developed a line of aromatherapy products, The Scented Groomer, and conducts online extended education classes at GroomClassroom.org.

BIG BREAK FOR BBIRD

I deeply honored and wildly thrilled to share with you that I have been invited to join Chris Christensen Systems, Inc as a member of their Pro Staff.  I'm there to provide educational input and my entertaining style.  May I just say.....  YEE HA!  Other CC Pro Staff members include Huber Pineda, winner of Season II of Groomer Has It, and Kendra Otto from Groom Team USA. 

 

We will know more about how this new association will unfold after next month, when I travel to Texas for a company creative workshop.  I can't think of a more perfect company for me to hook up with, this is a dream come true for me, and I hope to be able to use this opportunity to bring meaningful education to groomers. 

 

I am deeply beholden to my Internet groomer friends.  You are the wind beneath my wings, you have given me the encouragement to soar.  Any other "bird analogies"??  I thank you all for your continued support.  

 

Now here comes the inspirational part of this post.  Listen up.  Would you believe that this is happening as I approach my 70th birthday next month?  Yes, in the very same month that I turn seventy years old (and 70 is truly old), my speaker/educator career is going to take flight.  This is proof positive that you NEVER KNOW what is around the corner in your life, and that aging is no limit to opportunity. Who would ever imagine that an old groomer could become famous after age 60?  Who?  ME!!  This is happening because I dared to imagine it happening.  I dared to dream of the possibility, and I dared to act on that dream.  Dare to imagine your life turning out fabulous.
