Barbara Bird, Author

  • Barbara Bird, aka BBird, has been grooming since 1971 and opened Transformation Pet Center in Tucson, Arizona in 1977. In the salon, BBird specializes in Bichons and scissored trims, hand stripping of Terriers, and cat grooming. She has been writing and speaking to groomers for over a decade, and received the Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award as Grooming Journalist of the Year for 2006 and 2007. A regular contributor to Pet Age magazine, Barbara also writes for The Bichon Frise Reporter. She has authored and self-published three books, including Beyond Suds and Scent - Understanding Pet Shampoos and Conditioners. She has also developed a line of aromatherapy products, The Scented Groomer, and conducts online extended education classes at GroomClassroom.org.

EASY LINK TO THE GROOM POD

HELLOOOO GROOMERS!  Here is a quick way to access the weekly podcasts of The Groom Pod, with Susy Scott and myself.  As of today, we have nine episodes.  Susy includes a synopsis of topics so you can easily see what we cover in each broadcast. Last week (2/9/15) we talked about uses of photography in the grooming salon, dandruff and the issue of using human dandruff products, and different modes of scheduling.  http://susythegroomer.podomatic.com/

Let's give Susy-the-groomer full credit due for doing all the work necessary to create this first podcast for groomers. She has done all the technical work to get us up and running.  I'm just along for the ride and to provide some content.  It's the easiest gig I've ever had!  All I have to do is show up and let Susy pick my brain.  The Groom Pod is easy for you, as well.  All you have to do is download a podcast to your phone, tablet or computer and stick in the ear buds.  It's fun, it's informative, and it's for GROOMERS!
