It is a little bit past Halloween, and perhaps this story was best suited for that week, but alas it happened Yesterday and today so here we go.
I have spoken before about my ghosts. People laugh. It's fine. I don't mind.
BUT we all know it is an unspoken rule in the shop environment. You NEVER speak certain people's names out loud and you also never talk about how long it has been without a bite or accident. Doing any of the above results in the person calling or walking in or a bite/accident occurring.
Recently I talked up a dryer seizure. NO SOONER had I made the comment that what I was doing had worked the dog started seizing. We were done with the dryer. I was terribly upset and he bit the stew out of my finger in the process of holding him on the table. Taught me to never bathe or dry that dog again.
I also have this really uncanny ability to conjure up clients. I really do. Yesterday Jackie Powell called to get her black Peke-poo Roxie in. Roxie is a #4 with clean feet. WELL, I have another client named Roxie MOLDEN. Her mom's name is ALSO Jackie. She is ALSO a #4 with clean feet and a b lack Peke-poo. I called Jackie Powell Jackie MOLDEN. I caught it. She laughed when I explained the mistake. My son was like "NOW she will call tomorrow and we have not seen her in MONTHS!"...
First call of t he day: "HI! I know it has been a while but do you have room for Roxie Molden to come in today?"
Yep. I called her up.
Anyone have any advice for calling up winning lottery numbers or million dollar checks???
