Taking A Different Path

Several years ago I was driving along and was very preoccupied with what was going on in my life. I was having personal issues and my dog, Marcus, was chronically ill and not responding well to traditional veterinary medicine. We couldn't get him stabilized. His medications were increasing every month. His prognosis wasn't looking too good.I found myself in the parking lot of a New Age store near to where I lived. Was always curious about it, but never had the time to stop in. To this day, I don't even remember pulling into the lot. I walked in and right over to the bins of tumbled stones and picked out several that I liked. Kept them in my pocket and in a couple of weeks, I began to notice some very positive changes in my outlook. I googled the stones and found that the metaphysical properties of them corresponded exactly to the changes I was experiencing.That got my attention.

I went back to the store and bought a couple of books and began to experiment with my own dogs and myself. Not my husband though. I'm pretty sure he thought I lost it and was possibly comtemplating some sort of intervention. After a couple of months, Marcus was stabilized. He wasn't getting worse, but maybe all it was we managed to find the right dosage. 

I started to look around for some local people who I could learn from. I was sitting in the kitchen of one of my clients having a cup of coffee like I have been doing for the last 10 years, when I noticed all the rocks and crystals all over her house. Funny that I didn't notice it beforehand. Celia has been awesome. Gave me more books and pointed me in the right direction. Celia -You Rock! (Pun intended). 

In addition to working and networking with some knowledgeable locals, I took two separate crystal certification programs. One of which is recognized by the World Metaphysical Association. Sort of the American Medical Association of the alternate therapy world. From there I went on through all the levels of Reiki to become a Reiki Master. 

Getting back to Marcus. On primarily crystal therapy in conjunction with traditional veterinary mediciene, Marcus not only improved, but thrived. Before he passed away, Marcus no longer needed to take medication for Cushings and his insulin was cut by 25%. My vet was amazed and his staff always ask my opinion on crystals for themselves. My husband went from looking at the pricing for insane asylums to being one of my biggest supporter as I make this transition.  

Right now I am comtemplating continuing education in other alternate therapies. Who knows where this new path will take me.
